Introduction To Wedding Insurance
October 5, 2008
On average, a wedding costs about $30,000 in the United States, and over a third of the couples getting married are footing the entire bill. This amount doesn’t include the honeymoon. Wedding insurance can cover your losses if certain situations occur that cause extra money to be spent or for loss of money, gifts, etc.
If you purchase a $20,000 car, you would insure it against damage or loss. When you purchase a home, you insure it, too. Your wedding is of the top five most expensive things you will ever “purchase” in your lifetime. You should insure it as well. Wedding insurance covers things that can go wrong on your big day. Nobody wants or expects bad things to happen on their wedding day, but just in case they do wedding insurance can be there to soften the blow.
Who Needs Wedding Cancellation Insurance?
September 28, 2008
Should you include wedding cancellation insurance in with your wedding budget? Nobody plans a wedding with the thought that it might have to be cancelled or postponed, but there is always that slim possibility. Then what happens to all the money you’ve spent? Do you get it all back if the wedding has to be postponed?
Your Deposits
The deposits you make to your vendors are typically non-refundable deposits, but if the date of the wedding has to be moved, as long as it is done well in advance and that vendor has that date open, they will probably be able to move with you. However, if the wedding has to be postponed at the last minute due to an illness or sudden death, the officiant doesn’t show up, or the bride or groom gets called up to serve overseas in the armed forces, then you will lose all of those non-refundable deposits, and then some.

Event Insurance For Wedding - Do You Have to Buy Wedding Insurance? Actually, You Might.
August 17, 2008
Do you have to buy wedding insurance? Actually, it’s not a choice in some cases, but a requirement by some wedding planners and reception halls that you at least have cancellation and/or wedding liability insurance. It’s also not a bad idea even if it’s not required to buy wedding insurance to some degree. Wedding insurance plans can be tailor made to fit your needs, so some shopping is definitely in need.
Wedding Cancellation Insurance
Wedding cancellation insurance is becoming more and more a requirement by wedding planners who have too often gotten trapped without a wedding at the last minute. Weddings can be cancelled for a number of reasons. It’s not always about cold feet, which usually is not covered by wedding cancellation insurance anyway.
Some wedding insurance policies are offering change of heart insurance, but only the person is covered if the change of heart is not their own. For example, if the father of the bride put out $30 grand for his baby girl’s wedding and the groom doesn’t show up, he can be covered. But if the bride runs away, he’s out of luck.
